My first cosplay-cosplay!

At Metrocon I debuted my first 100% made-by-me cosplay!

Yep that's me as my own genderbend idea of Robin from Teen Titans xD
You can call me Sailor R.

Here are some progress pics:

My sketch xD I changed the sleeves to all green because it would look more like Robin that way.

After I finished the skirt O_O It turned out a little big but I fixed it by folding it over and stuff.

The collar ;_; after I ironed it, it got all uneven LOL NOOB STATUS.

Right after I hand sewn the sleeve to see if it would fit correctly as a test run. Took like an hour LOL.

Trying on my shirt for the first time after it was pretty much complete. The collar is a little too wide, but for this look it kind of works. Makes it look kinda super hero-y.

This was my first cosplay I made all by myself so of course I had to get a nice photoshoot done xD

I thought my legs were going to be shown in a lot of pictures, so I changed into heels for the photoshoot. It wasn't really a good idea LOL. I mean, my kicking picture would have turned out way better if I didn't wear heels. My legs look all uncomfortable and it was hard to pffft. dah well xD

I had two friends with me so we could split the cost.

LOOK AT US BEIN FRANZ

I love how creepy my hands look on my friend in the yellow shirt xD

Anyways this photographer is awesome and I found out about him though Facebook. I saw some pictures someone on my friends list had done during Megacon and I immediately went to like his page. The colors in his pictures are so cool! And not to mention, the SKIES O-O like I can't get over how beautiful the clouds in the skies all look in his pictures. I keep saying it over and over again LOL.

Anyways I enjoyed being in my cosplay so much! Okay, I will admit that the gloves, socks, and boots were not made by me LOL. I did attempt to make gloves...but it was too hard <_< so I went to party city and got green gloves for $2.99!!!! amazingly cheap xD There are gloves in every color there. I'll need to go back there again.

Also, I was very happy with how spirit gum kept my mask on my face. I only wore it Friday though for a few hours, but it was awesome! It was pretty secure. I only glued the sides of my mask so my eyebrows/cheeks could move xD Vision-wise with my mask was...pretty okay. I could see, but some things were difficult LOL. I had to ask my friend to tie my boot strings for me because it was hard haha. It wasn't too bad though. I would like to find a better alternative to tulle though. I used three layers of tulle. I have a black spider man mask that uses mesh over the eyes. I couldn't find mesh at joannes though o-O

I had to safety pin the sides of my bow to my shirt to keep the bow from drooping down lawl. My "R" heart thingy kept turning to the side though u-u

Overall, wearing my cosplay helped make my experience at Metrocon awesome. A lot of people complimented me on my outfit which felt great LOL. I mean, you have to admit, when you work hard on something and you're proud of it, when people tell you they like it, it's going to make you happy sdkfjhdfg. It was also nice being recognized by my character *_* people were like, "hey Robin!" T^T Finding other Teen Titans cosplayers was so much fun too!!

I can't wait to start working on my next cosplay (^____^)
It's going to be kawaiipool.
